2011 events
The 29th of November is the final Tuesday Club of the year. This one will be a little different in that a number of ATS providers will be speed pitching the main benefits of using their software. We are also going to have some christmas drinks on the 9th of December which I hope you can make.
2012 events
Irish Recruiters is expanding its program of events to cater for the demand for more education, community and networking in the Irish recruitment industry. Next year we are going to come to Belfast, Galway and Cork. We’re also going to shake up the events to provide a new format. There’ll be more tweet ups, Tuesday Clubs, golf outings and conferences and we’ll be diving into the rich topic of global recruitment and what is happening in other countries around the world.

Tuesday Clubs
Each event will be approximately two and a half hours long. The first 30 minutes will be an update from Declan Fitzgerald on the latest innovation you need to be aware of on the recruitment front. The next one hour for the Dublin events we’ll be asking guest speakers to dive into some learning on recruitment from a different countries e.g. China, India, Singapore, UAE, Brazil, Australia, etc. We’ll then break into discussion groups to do our normal networking and discussion on the hot topics in the industry at the time.
Some of the topics we’ll cover in the Tuesday Club Update are:
- Industry News & Analysis & Commentary: A synopsis of where we are with employment rates, government initiatives, employment legislation, economic factors both home and abroad, etc,
- Software & Hardware that is catching Irish Recruiters attention
- Changes taking place in Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google, Apple and Microsoft
- Other company news that recruiters should be tracking – from agencies, job boards and innovative start ups from around the world
- Break throughs from the world of recruitment apps, tools and recruitment software providers
- Tips for recruiters to become more productive and effective on the day job
- What are the main recruitment channels in each country
- What are the cultural nuisances in each country when recruiting that you need to be aware of
- How is the employment legislation different to Ireland
- What is the internet penetration rate in each country and what is their usage of social media and mobile
Tweet Ups are more about networking and fun then presentations and education. I’ll be running a number through 2012 to help us meet up in an informal to debate the topics of the day and have a few drinks in a relaxing informal environment.
Irish Recruiters Golf
In 2011 we had a golf outing in the Glen of the Downs, which was a great day out. We’re going to do it again, so any recruiters out there who want to hack around a golf course for an afternoon like I did, you’d be welcome to come along.
